Spain Laura WOW, THIS IS INCREDIBLE SPAIN! My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Spain. We felt like we were on a "Discovery" trip. We not only saw the Mediterranean Sea, the beautiful beaches of Costa del Sol and its "famous old cities", but we also learned so much history and walked in, and on ruins that were built in 25 BC! We visited many UNESCO World Heritage sites and cities. These are declared by the United Nations as a "world treasure, not just a country's treasure." Spain is: the warmth of the people; picturesque walled hill cities (many with all white houses);narrow cobblestoned streets; the beautiful Mediterranean Sea; many different ethnic groups and languages; "ham" (Spanish style); Andalusian horses; bulls & bullfights; flamenco dancers; vineyards and wineries that have been in business for over 300 years; rolling hills; cathedrals; steep canyons with ancient bridges; the Roman city of Merida with ruins that date back to 25 BC;Moorish towers and buildings; beautiful resorts; golf courses; the gateway to Gibraltar, Morocco, France and Portugal. We visited Granada where Christopher Columbus was commissioned by Queen Isabella and Seville where his tomb is housed in the Cathedral of Seville. (A couple of years ago we visited Genoa, Italy where he was born. Now we have come full circle!)
