Walt Disney World / Disney Cruise Line - Florida

The Presidents Week holiday in February was a perfect time to take our 2 teenage grandchildren to Walt Disney World and on a Disney cruise. Four nights at the parks and 3 nights on the Disney Magic made for an incredible vacation. Our grandkids favorite part was the cruise, they had non-stop fun and thought everyone from our great waiter to the teen staff and kids were the tops. We had lots of time to relax and take part in any of the activities that we wish to do. Our grandkids keep asking when are we going back to Florida and go on the 7-night cruise? This is one to be repeated!

The children's programs on Disney Cruises are the best I have ever seen. Kids delight in specially created programs and activities that let them play with kids their own age. From 9am until midnight, it's hands-on fun for four distinct age groups.

I recommend this as a family or grandparents and grandkids vacation, also for adults who like the quality of Disney without all the kids! They have Adult Only sections on the ship that cater to adults, honeymooners, & singles. They even have an adult only beach at Castaway Cay.

Disneyland Resort - California

Disneyland Resort is a whole vacation full of Magic! Now with two theme parks in one location there is so much to see and do, you will want to stay at least 4 days or longer. The Disneyland Park known as "The Happiest Place on Earth", captures your imagination, stirs your emotions and unleashes the unabashed joy of childhood in all of us. The new Disney's California Adventure which is full of exciting rides and adventures for all ages. There are 4 theme areas: A Bug's Land, Paradise Pier, Golden State and Hollywood Pictures Backlot. The Downtown Disney District is a mix of high-energy entertainment, exceptional restaurants, and unique shopping venues.

Think about the wonderful memories that can be had as your family members interact with the Disney Characters, photo opportunities are endless! This is a must experience destination for all families. As a grandparent, we have taken our grandchildren without their parents and had a very special bonding time with our grandkids!

Washington DC - Museums, Memorials and History

We took a long 4 day weekend trip to Washington DC with our son and grandson. We flew non-stop on Alaska Airlines and found it to be a wonderful way to travel. A quick trip through some of Smithsonian Museums, the Arlington Memorial Cemetery, Vietnam Memorial and other incredible sights were experienced. We took the hop-on-and-off tram and found it to be a great way to get around town. We stayed at the JW Marriott, which is in a perfect location to walk to everything. We even experienced a presidential motorcade taking the President back to the White House one evening on our way to dinner. These experiences were real highlights for our son and grandson.
