Mexico Susan Are you lacking the proper dose of sunshine, and is the gray, winterlike skyline becoming a too familiar horizon each morning? I would suggest a Mexico getaway as the cure. I recently visited a lesser known Pacific Coast destination....Manzanillo!!! A lovely area with beaches to die for, and the warm, friendly welcome of the Mexican people to compliment your visit. Alaska Airlines serves this airport, between Ixtapa and Puerto Vallarta.....an easy flight via Los Angeles or San Francisco. Manzanillo is in the state of Colima, and if beaches and sunshine are not your only priorities, then you can do some day touring to Colima, a colonial city of Mexico, or visit Guadalajara, home to artisans and craftspeople. Circuit tours which would include all of these areas can be easily arranged. My stay in Manzanillo was at an all inclusive property, the Karmina Palace, whose architecture is marvelous, reminiscent of a Mayan temple. Wonderful amenities, friendly staff, and 24 hour room service! If golf is your passion, this property shares the course with Las Hadas, a resort made famous by the movie "10", starring Dudley Moore and Bo Derek. The golf course, a Pete Dye design. is beautiful, and finishes on the 18th green on an ocean point....truly an amazing perspective! Karmina Palace is a destination for families, honeymooners, and singles. A new full service spa is about to be implemented, and offers the luxury and pampering one hopes to find on that "special vacation". Please put Mexico on your list of sunshine getaways...I think the value is superb, and you will have a fabulous holiday!
