Ancient Cedars Spa at The Wickaninnish Inn (British Columbia)
Located on Vancouver Island’s rugged western coast, the Wickaninnish Inn is minutes from the township of Tofino and the Pacific Rim National Park /Reserve. Guests enjoy whale-watching, sea kayaking, and fly fishing in the summer and storm-watching and hot springs trips in the winter. An old-growth rain forest presses in around the hotel, attracting hikers and bird-watchers.
Rooms have fireplaces and sweeping ocean views through floor-to-ceiling windows. From personal balconies, guests can breathe in the fresh salt air and hear the waves crashing on the rock below. The Pointe restaurant serves superb Pacific Northwest wines and cuisine, and offers 240-degree views of the ocean and adjacent Chesterman Beach. Ingredients brought in daily by anglers and crabbers, mushroom hunters and berry pickers, and oyster farmers yield such dishes a Tofino Dungeness crab with seasonal vegetables. The Ancient Cedars Spa, on the ocean level of the three-story main Pointe building has a seaside outdoor relaxation area. Couples may enjoy the treatments in the freestanding Cedar Sanctuary, an oceanfront cabin. The Sacred Sea in one of several marine-inspired spa services. It begins with a salt scrub, followed by a whirlpool tub soak, an application of customized moisturizer, and a wrap in warm blankets. Afterward, there’s nothing like watching a winter storm blow 15-foot swells while sipping British Canadian wine by the fireplace.

The Rainforest Spa is located at the center of Tauca Lea Island and overlooks the marina. Guests are greeted by the soothing scent of cedar and the spa's warm, casual décor.
